Comic Con San Diego has come and gone once again, and despite the absence of Warner Bros. and as a result, DC Comics, there were some top-notch trailer releases and some juicy content to dive into and dissect. We're very excited for so much of this entertainment extravaganza and now we're looking back on some of our favourites from the 2019 Comic Con in San Diego.
Top Gun Maverick Trailer
The first trailer for Top Gun Maverick was released last week and instantly caused a stir on social media. Tom Cruise is, of course, back to play the role of his Peter 'Maverick' Mitchell character from the 1986 original. The trailer reveals that, as most of us probably already knew, Maverick is still in the Navy and is now mentoring new pilots in a modern world that he finds difficult to adapt to.
The Witcher Trailer
You may have read (shame on you if you haven't!) our recent Blog Post on The Witcher Games and know that despite the original 2020 release date for The Witcher Netflix Series, we can now expect the show to air this year - yay! Although the show is based on the book series there are rumoured to be at least one or two nods to the game for fans to enjoy!
Westworld Season 3 Trailer
HBO's science fiction show, Westworld is one of my favourite shows at the moment. Instantly drawn in at Season one I was delighted to see a trailer for the third season appearing at SDCC 2019 and it's fantastic to have a show to fill the void left by Game of Thrones. Unfortunately we have about one year to wait for the release of Season 3 of this often mind-boggling show but it looks like the latest instalment will be taking an ambitious new direction!
Rick and Morty Season 4 Trailer
Fans of Adult Swim's Rick and Morty will be happy to see a trailer for Season 4 and despite being a short clip, the show promises to continue with its sense of humour that viewers crave! With Season 3 finishing in October 2017 it's about time we got a sneak preview of what's to come from our pals Rick and Morty!
Terminator: Dark Fate – San Diego Comic-Con Featurette
Rather than releasing a second trailer for Comic Con, Paramount released this awesome featurette for Terminator: Dark Fate and it's packed with footage of Arnie as Carl and Linda Hamilton as Sarah Connor! Fans of the retro Terminator films will appreciate the nostalgic nature of this featurette and it has definitely got our Terminator juices flowing!
His Dark Materials Season 1 Trailer
When I wasn't reading Harry Potter novels during the 90's and naughties I was diving into Philip Pullman's epic trilogy, 'His Dark Materials' which included 'The Golden Compass', 'The Subtle Knife' and 'The Amber Spyglass'. His Dark Materials finally been made into a show and as it is a HBO/BBC creation, we know it's going to be good! The His Dark Materials Trailer doesn't mention a release date but it sure looks amazing!
Star Trek: Picard Trailer
The Star Trek: Picard Trailer sure doesn't give too much away, but we know that Picard is now retired and no longer on The Enterprise. With Star Trek nostalgia and twists galore, Trekkies are bound to love the latest movie in which Picard is drawn back to duty and no doubt his old friends will be there to lend a hand when the going gets tough!
Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D Season 6 Trailer
Marvel released a trailer for the final four episodes of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D S06 and it gives viewers a few tantalising hints at Agent Coulsen's doppleganger, Sarge's real identity - this is the guy who detonated the largest atom bomb on Earth to kill his nemesis Izel!
IT 2 Trailer
This is the second Trailer for IT 2 and it has a real change of pace! The first trailer was slow and creepy but this latest IT Trailer, that dropped the day after Warner Bros. showed footage of IT 2 at Comic Con, reveals more and is even more intense!
The Flash and Supergirl Comic-Con 2019 Sizzle Trailers
The CW dropped trailers for both The Flash and Supergirl at CC 2019 in San Diego giving us an insight as to what the latest seasons will have to offer. Season 5 of Supergirl sees the heroine dealing with the consequences of the last season while The Flash is meeting Bloodwork, a new villain on the scene.
She-Ra and the Princess of Power Trailer
Continuing from Season 2, Netflix's She-Ra and the Princess of Power Season 3 will continue the story where it ended with Adora and co. on a mission to learn the secrets of Etheria. The trailer shows that there's a lot more in store for Adora with her relationship with Catra becoming complicated and her mysteries becoming more personal.
