What Do We Know About Incredibles 2?

The Low Down on Disney Pixar's Exciting Release

It's safe to say we are WELL overdue a sequel to the awesome Incredibles film, which was released many moons ago in 2004!

Yes, that really is quite shocking and had me feeling incredibly old - mwahah!

Each and every one of us here at Retro Styler HQ LOVED the antics of the Parr family in the first film and are extremely excited to see what the sequel will have in store. 

Bob (Mr. Incredible), Helen (Elastigirl), Violet, Dash and Jack-Jack all return to our screens to provide us with a much needed Incredibles fix. 

What Can We Expect From Incredibles 2?

Well, of course we can expect some serious (and equally hilarious) ass-kicking action from the gang, but this addition to the Incredibles franchise promises to take a different lead to that seen in the first film.

With a focus on Elastigirl, Incredibles 2 sees how the extremely stretchable super-heroine is capable of doing much more than just looking after the kids. With more of a female empowerment stance, this film shows Bob take a backseat role, as he has to look after and help navigate his children through their struggle with their own uncertainties. Not only do Violet and Dash prove to be more difficult to look after than first thought for Mr Incredible, but Jack-Jack's emerging superpowers also seem difficult to tame. Whilst getting through day-to-day life proves very challenging for Bob, Helen is out and about, busy saving the world. 

As the plot thickens and a super evil villain hatches a wonderfully dark plan, the Incredibles family are forced to join together to defeat the destructive force - which could prove to be more difficult than first thought.

The Return of Frozone and the Legendary Edna Mode

Words cannot describe how happy I am to see the promised return of both Frozone and Edna Mode! (Especially Edna..)

As the Parr family look to reunite against the villain's plans, they have to call upon the awesome Frozone to help take down the evil. Acting as one of Mr Incredible's closest allies, Frozone can create icy surfaces with his hands, making him a much needed addition to the Incredibles clan. Not only can Frozone help with his "hands on" *wink wink* approach, but he also adds even more humour to the film, and to be honest, the Incredibles wouldn't be the same without him. 

Now onto possibly my favourite character of ALL TIME - Edna Mode! In the first film, I couldn't stop laughing at Edna's character. The costume-designing extraordinaire may be small but she is ridiculously eccentric and that is why I love her so much. She may act as a supporting role within the first film, but I hope that we get to see more of this character in the second film. There is no doubt that Edna is anything less than wonderfully written and expertly executed, with the creator of the Incredibles - Brad Bird - taking it upon himself to voice the character. Remember... NO CAPES!

When Is Incredibles 2 Being Released?

This sequel is predicted to smash all expectations and has already taken over Finding Dory's number of pre-sales!

Reportedly screening in both 2D and 3D, Incredibles 2 is set to hit a cinema theatre near you in July - Yup, that's right Friday 13th July. 

You better get those tickets booked...
