So you've probably seen nothing but Royal Wedding hype all week (and all month and all year!), and as we eagerly await Harry and Meghan's big day tomorrow. As you know, we like to do things a bit differently around our parts, so instead of reeling off more wedding gossip and rumours, we've decided to compile a list of the most beautiful royals of all time.
1. Meghan Markle
OK so due to ridiculously confusing Royal protocol, Meghan Markle may not have the title of "Princess" however, she is more or less exactly that. Whatever her title is and whatever her title will be tomorrow, there is little doubt that the American actress deserves the top spot on our countdown!
2. The Duchess of Cambridge (AKA, Kate Middleton)
Okay, so Kate might not have been a Princess for long, but we couldn't not include her on the list either - maybe I'm not too good at this?! The Duchess of Cambridge is famed for her work with numerous charities and has just welcomed Prince Louis of Cambridge into the world, her third child in four years, that's pretty good going if you ask me!
3. Princess of Wales
Princess Diana was famously known as the 'People's Princess' and her sudden death saddened and shocked the nation in 1997. Born in 1961, Diana went on to marry Prince Charles with over 750 million people watching their big day unfold worldwide. Princess Diana became the mother to both Prince William and Prince Harry and throughout her life she raised a considerable amount of money and awareness for various children's charities around the world. There is no doubt that the Princess of Wales' legacy will live on forever, and she is more than worthy of a spot on this list!
Maybe we've cheated a little here, but how could we not include a couple of Disney Princesses?! With the main influences originally adapted from a ballerina, Aurora is definitely one of the most dainty and elegant of the Disney Princesses. With her long blonde bouncy locks, amethyst studded eyes and iconic pink dress, we believe Aurora is one of the most beautiful Princesses in the animated world.
5. Queen Rania of Jordan
Okay, so yet another one which may not be considered a 'Princess' officially, but hey ho... Born in Kuwait, Rania Al Abdullah moved to Jordan to work, where she met King Abdullah at a dinner party. After much persuasion, Queen Rania finally accepted an invitation to join the King for dinner. Five months later, the young couple were married and BAM, Rania become Queen Rania of Jordan aged 28! Queen Rania studied hard when she was younger and still believes that "education is the our best hope for lifting the darkness" - powerful words.
How could you leave a Princess of the list who's name literally translates to beauty? You definitely couldn't! Belle is intelligent yet a slight outcast and this coupled with her strong will and resilience allow Belle's beauty to run further than simply skin deep.
7. Princess Ameerah al-Taweel of Saudi Arabia
Commonly known as one of the most beautiful Princesses, Princess Ameerah al-Taweel may be divorced to Prince Waleed bin Talal al Saud now, however she has still been able to make a name for herself. Renowned as a force to be reckoned with, Princess Ameerah al-Taweel spends a lot of her time advocating women's rights and seeks to encourage women around the world to get an education and to actively participate in politics.
8. Princess Alexandra of Luxembourg
Although she is excluded from the line to the throne, this doesn't stop the young Princess in her quest to do more or less everything! The 27 year old royal has worked within Journalism in the Middle East for the majority of her working life and she successfully completed an internship with the United Nations Security Council. One of five siblings, Princess Alexandra of Luxembourg frequently volunteers to help refugees and can speak Luxembourgish, Spanish, French and English fluently and also German and Italian to some extent - pretty impressive huh?!
9. Princess Madeleine of Sweden
Princess Madeleine of Sweden is known for taking up many royal engagements on behalf of her Father, and frequently works with numerous charities around the world. After breaking off her first engagement in 2010, Princess Madeleine went on to marry American investment banker, Christopher O'Neill in June 2013. In 2012 Princess Madeleine of Sweden co-founded the ThankYou by Childhood campaign which aims to raise awareness of sexual abuse of children.
10. Princess Jasmine
Somehow the list simply would not have been complete with Princess Jasmine. Her thick luscious hair and awesome kick ass style mean that Princess Jasmine is one of the strongest role models to come out of the Disney Princess world. We love her fun and adventurous relationship with Aladdin too, that's something surely every couple would aspire to! She even makes those street clothes look good...
So whether you have a street party to attend or are busy burying your head in the sand and pretending like nothing is happening this weekend, you're bound to have found out a few facts that you didn't know!
Feel free to let us know which Princesses you believe should have made it on the list in our comments below...
